The Perea Hospital located in Mayagüez, a city on the west side of Puerto Rico was celebrating its 100th anniversary. My job was to create a logo to be used throughout the advertising campaign of that year. Initially, I presented alternatives in which the number 100 was part of the current logo of the company. The problem was that the logo was already complex and adding more elements made it very heavy visually. After talking with the client, we decided that it was better to create a separate logo independent of the original. This logo was very effective in the whole anniversary celebration campaign of the Perea Hospital.
